Day #41: The Penetrators – “Checkpoint Echo”
I’m back home in Florida for the President’s Day holiday. I love being back here more and more. DC can be so exhausting with the obsession for the new and posh. And, while the homogenous strip malls and housing developments have creeped into plenty of Florida’s neighborhoods, there is just as much of old Florida still in tact, and in plenty of places. Hotels along the coast built in the 50s. Pre-Disney era amusements like Gator Land and Dinosaur World. Buildings that have been around long before the roads were paved. With Grandma being more apt to taking day-long jaunts around the state, I hope we get to see a lot more of those remnants before they’re all gone.
