Day #43: MacUmba – Damp Carpet
Oh, to be traveling the world now and seeing any of the Mardi Gras and Carnival celebrations going on today. Even the Swedes celebrate it. I had to do my homework for this post as I was hoping to find a Brazilian tune for the occasion. I landed on this one by MacUmba, which combines Brazilian samba with Scottish pipes.
And, while I can’t be privy to the festivities, we did get a small taste of Mardi Gras while in New Orleans earlier this year. For a small fortune, you can tour a warehouse of parade floats at Mardis Gras World. Or, you can visit Germaine Cazenave Wells Mardi Gras Museum, tucked away inside Arnaud’s Restaurant on Bienville Street. It’s absolutely free.

Tom at the museum.
