For my fellow tech policy nerds, recent news has been published to the Boing Boing blog that Congress is determining whether to take inventory of spectrum (Radio Spectrum Inventory Act). It’s something previously attempted by the New America Foundation, which found plenty of spectrum not being used. Cory Doctrow, who writes the article and favors using additional spectrum for WiFi, considering it’s expansive potential, presents fair predictions of what might happen to the unused spectrum: a quick sell-off by the impulsive FCC.
