Freshly pressed on the WordPress webpage today is an interesteing, albiet depressing list of places that, for various reasons, are the least desirable travel destinations. Listverse’s “Top 10 Places You Don’t Want to Visit” include the garbage-filled Pacific Northwest, abestos mines in Quebec, Alnwick Poison Gardens in England, and particularly creepy Zone of Alienation in Chernobyl. As certainly horrifiying as the descriptions (and realities) of most of these places are, the picture of the people from the Izu Islands (Japan) posing in gas masks in a black and white photo is exceptionally disturbing.
