Coincidentally, on the heels of having watched the sequel to Oliver Stone’s Wall Street, which waxes poetic about a convoluted global economy, I ran across the Original AC’s Facebook link to Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre’s beautifully shot, but immensely heartbreaking photos of present-day Detroit (one of which is posted below).
It’s hard to believe anything like this could exist in America, a country that continuously, if not desperately declares its prowess. Compton said that the one of the dentist’s office makes her cringe. For me, it’s the shot of the United Artists Theater. It looks like something out of Logan’s Run.
What will become of Detroit in time?
