Day #74: Spoon – “I Turn My Camera On”
Lord, it’s been a long day and my “feets are hurting,” as the old folks say. One of our first stops this morning was at the Schmetterling Haus. Better known to you Yanks as the Imperial Butterfly House. We spent a good amount of time there trying to photograph butterflies. They could really turn that into a game. Something like where you pay for admission and then get a list of all the butterflies they’ve got in the place that you’d have to capture with your camera. The more elusive the butterfly, the higher the points. Or, maybe you could score higher points, too, if the butterfly was, I don’t know, doing something crazy and you got it on camera. Like it landed in someone’s hair and they flip out. Or, if one suddenly emerged from a cocoon with a half developed second butterfly attached to it! Ewww, you guys!
For this game, you’d get a jackpot for capturing the most elusive of all: the blue ones (they don’t care about photo ops, those buggers spend all day flying well above everyone’s heads). In the end, they could give out prizes for the highest score earners. Maybe like a Euro or two discount on beer or something at the cafe next door. I bet that would certainly boost ticket sales!
To the Suggestion Boxery!
The brown butterfly is kind of like the honey badger — it just don’t give a shit. Well, it don’t give a shit about eating rotting fruit and being gawked at by tourists wandering around its habitat. It’s not really in a position not give a damn about anything else.
