Day #142: The Golden Filter – “Favourite Things”
I loved this. It’s something my friend, Yin Yin, shared on Facebook. An exchange between her fiancee and her father who are traveling around India for a few days.
Dad: Jeetu bent down to smell their (the villagers’) feet. Then they put saffron rice on his head.
Me: Dad, they are giving Jeetu blessings. He didn’t smell their feet; he was just touching them to show respect.
It takes some time for a Chinese parent to fully understand the Indian culture, but dad is learning.
