Day #215: Pomegranates – “50’s”
Our access keys to the office have been on the fritz for the last few days. I would have been standing around outside of my office this morning, twiddling my thumbs, had the maintenance man not stopped by and offered to let me in the back way. Meaning that we had to go around through the development company’s offices on the top floor and take the elevator down to mine. To my surprise, their office walls were decorated from floor to ceiling with loads of cool old things. Photos, signs from stores long gone, old trunks, all from the 40s and 50s. Probably some things that were even decades older than that. There was even an antique set of boxing gloves. The maintenance man got a laugh out of people’s reactions as he brought them through like he did me, saying that a lot of that stuff was pulled from buildings that the company had bought and remodeled. “No one realizes this is here.” I sure didn’t. All this time it’s like I’ve been working under a secret museum! Now all I want to do is spend my lunchbreak wandering around there. I wonder if they’ll mind.
